Sitting Becalmed

So, I'm sitting in the backseat. Driving to Boston. Avoiding the ominous stack of plays containing potential college monologues. Listening to Greg Laswell, whose voice, no matter how I'm feeling, sends a smile to my lips and makes me nostalgic. And as I sit here, I think slowly, painfully, joyously, fondly, lovingly about this summer.

What an adventure. I mean, how else could you describe the unbelievable/unforgettable trip we've taken in these few, hot months. Together, we have experienced ups, and so many have gone through some downs. But no matter what has happened, or who it happened to, we have been there.

To comfort. To listen. To advise. To care. To sing. To smile. To embrace. To feel. To cushion. To protect. To catch. To joke. To give. To remind. To follow. To lead. To remain. To caution. To smile.
To love.

The people I have met this summer. The people who I have known. The people I've tried to forget. You have changed me. Summer, to me, has felt like Spring. I have grown and learned and flourished. Thanks to the people I have been lucky enough to spend time with. Those whom the universe has taken and thrown together.
