Sitting Becalmed

So, I'm sitting in the backseat. Driving to Boston. Avoiding the ominous stack of plays containing potential college monologues. Listening to Greg Laswell, whose voice, no matter how I'm feeling, sends a smile to my lips and makes me nostalgic. And as I sit here, I think slowly, painfully, joyously, fondly, lovingly about this summer.

What an adventure. I mean, how else could you describe the unbelievable/unforgettable trip we've taken in these few, hot months. Together, we have experienced ups, and so many have gone through some downs. But no matter what has happened, or who it happened to, we have been there.

To comfort. To listen. To advise. To care. To sing. To smile. To embrace. To feel. To cushion. To protect. To catch. To joke. To give. To remind. To follow. To lead. To remain. To caution. To smile.
To love.

The people I have met this summer. The people who I have known. The people I've tried to forget. You have changed me. Summer, to me, has felt like Spring. I have grown and learned and flourished. Thanks to the people I have been lucky enough to spend time with. Those whom the universe has taken and thrown together.

Sound Body. Sound Mind.

Yesterday was a day for myself. Which, I am finding out, is a new thing for me.

I took the advice of a close friend: got a heartfelt feature film (my choice - Casablanca), a pint of Ben & Jerry's (Americone Dream), a pad of paper, a pen, pj's, and leg warmers. This was all in preperation for the dispora of my feelings for a certain guy. A guy who I desperately needed to get over. So, I sat myself down, wrote him a letter listing all the reasons he isn't good enough and all things he doesn't have that are things that a good guy should have. Then, I burned it and let all of my bad feelings leave me and go out into the universe.

Next, Casablanca. It was beautiful I almost cried, three times. Which for me is as good as crying. So I got my catharsis, my good movie, and my ice cream. Good day.

A Renaissance Blog (Man?)

Okay, so I'm just gonna post whatever I want on this thing. Screw you guys. Well, not you specifically, just you others... who say, "nay." Here is a poem .

Move around
Round and round
Find what’s lost
Lose what’s found

Move around
Round and round
To the rhythm
Of the sound

Move around
Twirl and spin
Live in virtue
Commit your sin

Move around
Twirl and spin
Where are you going
Where have you been

Move around
And revolve
Solve your problems
Problem solve.

Love Letters of "Great" Men

The other day, Rachel* and I found a letter in my locker. Intrigued, we opened it. It was a love letter, from Justin... To a girl named Alex. Well, I'm most likely going to Hell anyway (aren't we all?); so I read it. Here's what it said:

loveletter

See now you'll be joining me; don't forget sunblock (Hell is pretty toasty).

It truly inspires me, that in this modern days someone hand wrote a letter. And even more, a love letter
